Texas City 9:00 am 3rd October 1999
The King’s Room
On a beautiful cool morning in Texas City, King Seth sits in his palace, lost in his thoughts, and is revived when one of his guards knocks on his door. “Come in,” he said, sitting on his armchair and looking towards the door.
The guard comes in and bows
“Speak up,” said the King
“Your majesty, Prince Malcolm is in the palace hall and wishes to have some words with you,” the guard said, still bowing.
“Okay, I will be there soon; you may go,” Seth replied, waving him off.
After the guard leaves, he takes a deep breath burying his face in his two palms and elbow on the table. God only knows his thoughts.
Few minutes later, he stood up and stared at the files on his table before walking out of the room.
The Palace Hall
Malcolm is seated on a couch, sipping a soft drink while watching a movie. King Seth walks in not long after.
“Brother,” Malcolm said as he hugged Seth. After they disengaged, “or should I say your majesty,” he teases him.
Seth laughs, “oh, stop it” he then sits opposite Malcolm. “So you said you wanna see me; hope no problem?” King Seth asked.
“Oh, nothing much; it is about the war going on between us and China. You know, I heard they are trying to bring Israel into the war, and you know what that means, the war is going to be too tough for us.” Malcolm said at first.
Seth only rests his back on the couch, saying nothing.
You know, Malcolm continue, you don’t have to follow father’s instructions anymore, for goodness sake, father is no more, and we can’t win this war, not now that they have Israel behind them.
“What do you now think I should do?” Seth finally asks, looking puzzled
“I think we should retreat”; let’s give in to the offer they are bringing in……..
” Seth cut him off immediately “No, no, no; it can’t work; there is no way I’m giving in to that bullshit; they are calling for backup; we are calling for ours, that is it,” Seth said angrily. “If you think you can convince me to appeal to whatever they are offering, then you are wrong because it can’t work, okay? So if you will excuse me, I have other important things to do” with this, he walked out of the hall.
Malcolm also shakes his head as he walks out of the palace in disgust.
OUTSIDE THE PALACE
2 black B.M.W cars are parked at the doorway into the palace, and 4 able-bodied men in black suits and glasses are smartly standing next to the cars. Malcolm walks out through the door, and the four men bow to him immediately before opening the door to the first car for him; he looks around the palace before entering the car, and then he is driven out of the palace.
On his way home, he calls his wife, who picks up on the second ring.
“Hello darling, how was it?” She asked.
“Not good; he disagrees; we will be working with plan B,” he replied. See you soon; he added as he hung up.
New York City 12:30 pm Advanced High School
With the sun scorching in its abode, Alex is walking with his best friend Edward around the school premises discussing when 2 black jeeps are packed beside them. Alex’s mom, ‘Queen Sarah’ got down from one of the jeep’s back seats.
“Mom!!” Alex shouted as he ran into his mom’s arms
“How are you doing?” She asked him
“I’m a good mom.” What are you doing here?” Alex asked
“Is it a crime to visit my child?” She replied, smiling.
Just then, Edward greeted, “Good morning, your highness” with a bow
“Oh, Edward, I’ve told you several times not to bow to me; please stop it, ok?”
Edward said nothing then Sarah broke the silence,
“Alex, your dad is celebrating your birthday in Los Angeles this year.” She said.
“Wow, what a surprise!” Alex exclaim.
Yeah, so go get ready; we will be leaving the states very early tomorrow morning, including you, Edward, she replied.
“Alright, mom,” Alex said excitedly as he and Edward ran into their cars and zoom off
Texas City 1:00 pm Malcolm’s House
Malcolm enters his compound in his car alongside his entourage. The car halted, and a guard opened the backdoor for Malcolm to alight. Malcolm hurried out of the car and move into the house.
“Welcome darling,” Nicole greeted on sighting him
“Have you called him?” Malcolm asked.
“Yes, I was told they will be moving to Los Angeles tomorrow to celebrate Alex’s birthday, “she replied”
Then we are to carry out the plan tomorrow; let him do a clean job, “Malcolm said
“Sure, your majesty,” Nicole replied as they laughed.
4th October 1999
Three cars are moving at the same pace on the highway occupying the three lanes. The first and last cars are occupied by the guards, while King Seth’s family occupies the one in the middle. Alex and Edward are having fun, playing games while King Seth and Queen Sarah are discussing.
About 30 kilometers away is ‘ Remy ‘ and his boys, the assassin Malcolm hired. He lay down some tire busters on the road and then hid somewhere.
Some minutes later, the cars sped up towards the trap and swiftly over it. The cars tumbled immediately, and the ones with the guards blasted off. On seeing this, Remy and his gang were certain no one survived and zoomed off in a sports car.
In the car, Alex is injured and tries to open the door. He was eventually successful and helped Edward down from the car. They attempted to rescue his father and mother, but the car soon exploded with the impact sending Alex and Edward to the ground.
The two boys fainted instantly.
