Exciting Poem: Bend In The Road Poem Helen Steiner Rice

A Bend In The Road Poem

Remember the popular bend in the road poem by Helen Steiner Rice in the 1980s? Probably, you were not born then.

The poem was one of the few poems that gave people a reason to move and struggle for success. Here is the poem for you to enjoy:

A Bend In The Road Poem By Helen Steiner

Sometimes we come to life’s crossroads
We view what we think is the end;
But God has a much wider vision
And He knows that it’s only a bend

The road will go on and get smoother
And after we’ve stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us
Is often the best path

So rest and relax and grow stronger
Let go, and let God share your load,
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow
You’ve just come to a bend in the road

We were thrilled by the poem and decided to create something similar; here is our version of the poem

My Version: Bend In The Road Poem (Ramon Yusuf)

Dreams and Reality are two different theories

Hope binds them together

Efforts make one witness both

Yet, you can have hope and make efforts to lose both

Life, we know, is not a bed of roses

Disappointments are bound to happen

Being optimistic does not guarantee success

Expect disappointment, and you will never be disappointed

One man food, they say;

Is another man poison

One man’s failure can be the success of another man

The interplay of life irony

Life itself is a mystery

That contains mysterious people

Life is difficult to explain

People are difficult to understand

What you view as a “b” is seen as “d” by others

Your “9” can become “P” to the man with a mirror

You may have measured the distance with a ruler

But, take a French curve with you;

For there might be a bend in the road

Are all rich men destined to be?

Does the poor have ill luck?

If yes, is destiny a cheat?

If not, is destiny an illusion?

Summary Of The Bend In The Road Poem (Analysis)

A Bend in the Road speaks about the mystery of life, the ups and downs, and the divergence in human nature. The poem serves as a reminder and a motivation to people so; they can always be prepared for what the future holds.

The future is not known by anyone and was described as a bend by the poet. He also noted the significance of destiny in the last stanza and simultaneously enquires if destiny can always be said to decide the journey of every human.

Ponder over the words of the two poets and answer the questions to see if truly a bend in the road can be observed.

Don’t forget to share with others, and feel free to tell us your opinion on both poems in the comment section.

You never can tell who is currently at the bend in his road.
